One-storey detached house with studio on the edge of the building zone of Witterswil.
At the edge of the residential zone of Witterswil, canton of Solothurn, the new built single-storey family home could be handed over in January 2012. Besides the usual living areas it also includes an annexed studio on a slightly lower level. Cooking, dining and living areas are very open and are grouped together with the artist's studio around a u-shaped courtyard. Towards the east the building is rather closed, containing the more private rooms and a garage. the higher volume is executed in face concrete, the lower one clad in dark panels.
The building achieves Minergie standard, meaning a controlled ventilation is integrated. The required heating energy is produced with a geothermal heat pump, the electricity with a photovoltaic plant on the roof.
