First installation for Lonza AG in the Stücki Park Basel in the head building house A on level 7.
On an area of approximately 1’000m2, six biosafety level 2 (BSL 2) laboratories, meeting rooms, a kitchenette with lounge and offices were realized. Different office categories were desired, ranging from single to opens-pace offices.
The general floor plan is already defined by the basic structure of the building. The laboratory setting is placed on the east facade, in the lower building tract. Thus, laboratory sizes of 45-65m2 are achieved. The adjoining rooms, as well as kitchenette, server room and a meeting room are positioned in the secondary zone. The offices, the lounge and the large meeting room are located on the light-flooded west and south facade. By separating the two laboratory and office zone via the fire protection sliding door, a unit is formed that promotes the communicative and productive cooperation of the individual areas. The design of the rooms is limited to a simple, light and straightforward appearance.
