BKB Private Banking

Installation of a private banking department for the Basler Kantonalbank.

For the property on Brunngässlein, BKB decided to install a private banking department. Blaser Architects were asked to architecturally implement the necessary interventions in the 1976 building. For this purpose, the first floor as well as three upper floors and two basement floors had to be rebuilt.

The first floor now forms the heart of the private banking department. Here you will find a representative entrance hall with a reception counter, suitable for events. In the quieter rear area, seven meeting rooms are grouped around an inner courtyard. Four more are supplied with daylight by overhead lighting.

The customer consultants and team leaders have their workplaces on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors. These office areas were predominantly designed as open-plan offices. A tea kitchen was installed as a communication zone for the bank employees. The two basement floors contain parking spaces and externally rentable storage areas. A passenger lift connects all levels with each other.

The central inner courtyard, which is already visible from the reception hall, is gravelled and planted with hard blossom bars.
